About the role Working from our iconic and world class Vineyard in the heart of Whitlands, We are seeking for a Vineyard Manager to join our team. A key site for CHANDON; the Whitlands vineyard produces some of Australia?s highest quality sparkling wine grapes. We are seeking for an equally high-quality candidate to elevate and enhance our viticulture team. In this position you will: · Be responsible for superviseing all aspects of vineyard operations in Whitlands. · Lead a team of dedicated workers and collaborate closely with winemakers and viticulturists to ensure the production of premium grapes for our wines. · Strong knowledge of viticulture practices, leadership abilities abilities, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality. · This is a ?hands on? managerial role, where you will be required to operate vineyard machinery. This includes but is not limited to; Tractor with vineyard implements, grape harvester, and ATVs. · Ensure all vineyard plant and equipment is always maintained and in top working order. Job Requirements For your application to be considered, you must have: · practice in viticulture with a genuine enthusiasm for wine and viticulture. · A tertiary qualification in viticulture [or a closely related field] is preferred. · leadership abilities expertise with the capability to motivate and guide a small, but dedicated team to achieve the high-quality results expected. · Effective communication expertise are imperative to success in this function; the capability to communicate well and foster strong relationships, both internal and external, will be highly respected. · A strong knowledge of work health and safety procedures. · Must have tractor operations practice. · Mechanical capability and knowledge are highly desired traits for this function. · A ?can do, will do? attitude - the capability to be self-sufficient and work well autonomously. · knowledge of LEAN manufacturing practices/principles will be advantageous. · Flexibility, and the capability to work overtime subject to seasonal requirements. · Valid driver?s license.
