Job Description
We are a small family winery that has been making wines from the Heathcote region since 1991. The winery is located 1.5 hours drive from the Melbourne CBD, 30 mins drive from Kyneton and 45 mins drive from Bendigo.

David Anderson founded the winery, planting the first vineyard in 1974. David's son Liam Anderson entered the family business in 1998, has run the winery as chief winemaker since 2007, and CEO since 2017.

We crush 150 - 200 tonnes of ultra-premium grapes solely from the Heathcote region annually. We produce both white and red wines for our allocation customers, and are always looking to try new things to excite our customers and us as winemakers. Focussing on grapes grown at our six estate owned and managed sites across the region. We also purchase grapes from a few select growers in Heathcote, and work with the same patches of vineyard within these sites each year. Our wines are distributed domestically with a focus to on-premise, and are presently exported to several different markets across the globe, including USA, UK, Malaysia, Singapore, Switzerland, Hong Kong and China, with opportunities in several other markets in Asia and Europe.

We make wines at many price points, from $25 - $800/bottle and the quality of our grapes is of primary focus, making beautifully balanced wines of concentration and opulence. Our historically important varieties have been Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon, however we also work with Malbec, Cabernet Franc, Grenache Noir, Mataro, Roussanne, Marsanne, Grenache Blanc, Viognier, Riesling and Piquepoul Blanc.

Reporting to Liam, this is a hands-on role that will be responsible for managing everyday winery operations, managing barrel and vat topping, SO2 levels, preparing wines for both in house and external bottling, managing our in-house bottling, and ordering of dry goods. During harvest the adjunct winemaker be in everyday communication with Liam regarding the winemaking process, desired results, stylistic decisions, QC and cleanliness. The adjunct winemaker will be responsible for communicating with our small and dedicated team of cellar hands, and organising everyday operations.

A remuneration package will be tailored to the chosen candidate, with reference to qualifications, practice and skill base.

Job Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in Oenology, or nearing completion
- Minimum 3 years of winery practice
- Laboratory expertise
- Proficient in production functions, including analysis, blending and bottling
- Familiarity with Vintrace software an advantage
- fantastic communication expertise
- A sound knowledge of vineyard operations (Viticultural practice an advantage)
- Current forklift & driver?s licence
- capability to drive to and from work
- Physically capable of undertaking cellar tasks
- Capacity to work extended hours during vintage, or as required.
