An chance exists for a motivated Vineyard manager to join the award-winning Tate Wine team, and work with some of WA?s premier vineyards and wineries. This is a full-time permanent position, reporting to the Group Viticulturist. The prosperous applicant will be an practiced Vineyard manager, with the commitment to growing grapes wines of the highest quality, and the drive to work in autonomy and in a dynamic team. Main Job Responsibilities: ? Integral part of the viticulture team, with involvement on all our vineyard sites, situated in the Margaret River G.I. (presently 1 in Jindong, 2 in Wilyabrup, 2 in Wallcliffe). ? chance to participate in seasonal decision making. ? Supervision of contract work, including teams and machinery. ? All machinery operations ? Hands-on vineyard operations ? Trellis maintenance ? Irrigation maintenance and programming ? Machinery and grounds everyday routine maintenance ? chance to interact with our Winemakers and participate in winemaking tasting and allocations. practice, expertise and Qualifications: ? Good knowledge and hands-on approach to vineyard equipment and techniques, with a focus on tractor operations, fungicides and herbicides applications. ? Sound knowledge of canopy management ? Pruning practice and knowledge ? knowledge of pests and diseases of grapevines in MR ? Valid driver?s license ? Chemical handling, forklift license, first aid qualifications are all a plus. ? Organised, team player able to also work in autonomy. ? Strong work ethic and positive attitude. ? Office location at our central Wilyabrup site.
